I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would be blogging! Being a mom means a lot of things from taking care of kids, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, washing, the list just goes on and you just realise, ‘oh my, it’s 10 pm already! Time for bed.’ If you are a working mom then don’t ask, you keep getting calls from office for reports and then you end up working on your laptop from home late night after your family is asleep. I lived that life 4 years back and I’m glad I quit!
Today Iam a full time mom taking care of my son Shane and being there for him and my husband. My journey after quitting my job wasn’t easy but as you all know we moms are designed to face challenges and be a super woman. In my case, my husband had to constantly travel for work and I was pretty new with this whole parenting thing. That’s when I started googling parenting tips, reading books on children and even watching YouTube videos. They helped to some extent as I realised I wasn’t alone in this battle.
Parenting was never easy and it’s never easy when you have people around going on taunting you for things like you should feed him this way, you should not give him too much sugar, you should be alert at all times…. Blah blah 😛 I wish I could strangle those ‘know it all people’ who love making our life miserable but being a new mom gave me anxiety attacks every time my son sneezed or even put his fingers inside his mouth. I know, it was crazy but don’t we all moms go through that phase.
Last year on our holiday to Singapore I happened to see a lot of working moms turn bloggers overnight. I read an article about the Singapore Mom Bloggers ( Check their website www.singaporemombloggers.com) Many of the moms quit their full time job to start their own blog. This actually motivated me and I decided that when Im back in Dubai, Im going to start my own blog. Its been just 2 months since I have started this blog and I must say its indeed a great experience!
Blogging about my parenting experience and my life in a nutshell kept me happy and I realised I should have started this earlier. If you’re a mom and you’re passionateabout something don’t stop yourself, just go ahead and do it as it makes you feel good about who you are 🙂 it’s not going to be easy the first time around but I’m sure you will get there. I keep pushing myself to write more and to focus on things that keeps me happy. Someday, I will get there… Till then I’m going to just enjoy what I do! Happy blogging mommies 😀
