The much awaited movie of 2016 and my favourite animation since childhood, this movie has surpassed all our expectations ! Let me just take you through the first ever Jungle Book that was released as an animation movie by Disney Studios which went on to be re released 3 times.
The Jungle Book 1967
The first Jungle book was produced by Walt Disney based on Rudyard Kipling’s book Mowgli. The animation movie was released in 1967 after Walt Disney’s death in late 1966. The movie received great response in its first release and there were 3 re releases in the following years. The movie stands out mainly because of the number of classic songs like ‘ Bare Necessities’ which was my favourite as me and my brother used to just rewind and forward the tape to watch the song. The song was so popular that it received even an Academy for Best Song!
The Jungle Book 2016
Now with the release of new Jungle Book I was even more excited as it was not animation but real life characters thanks to technology would be appearing on-screen! The movie is directed by Jon Favreau, written by Justin Marks and produced by Walt Disney Studios. Based on Rudyard Kipling’s book ,it’s a remake of the original animation The Jungle Book 1967.
The amazing cast of the Jungle book features the voices of
We had purchased 4dx tickets at Mall of Emirates to watch this movie. The movie starts with Mowgli running with his wolf siblings and Bagheera making a quick appearance. After watching the making of the movie I was in awe to see the movie look so real on-screen. The kid Neel Sethi who is the only real character in the movie amidst all the special and digital effects did a brilliant job. With all the brilliant voices from Hollywood the movie has shaped out quite well and will keep you glued on to the screen. Since we took 4dx tickets, it was worth the every dirham we spend. I would recommend all to watch this movie whether the experience is 2D, 3D, 4DX etc.
Jon Favreau has definitely taken inspiration from Rudyard Kipling’s book and the Disney’s animated Jungle Book to give you a beautiful movie. A must watch and definitely you all will love it! I rate the movie 4.5/5 . I would have given a 5/5 but I really was looking forward to see Mowgli united withe humans in the end as that was part of the book and the animated cartoon. Apart from that there aren’t any flaws in the movie that I could think of. The 115 minutes was thrilling and entertaining and I was glued on throughout the whole movie! Neel Sethi’s acting is absolutely brilliant and the kid is indeed the star of the movie, the only real living cast in the movie and the main lead actor who keeps us entertained. Hats off to the digital and technical team behind this incredible movie. On the whole, Jungle Book is a family entertainer that surpasses all our expectations and keeps us asking for more!
