Cocoa Room was one of ‘the’ places I was so looking forward to visit as I have been hearing a lot about their breakfast and the menu looked so tempting ever since they opened last year. This was one of the must try breakfast places in my list! I’m glad I could finally go there thanks to my friend Celia who treated me for this lovely breakfast on her birthday. Lucky me 😀
We reached there by 9am and as we entered the restaurant I was in love with the interiors, it was so pretty! The restaurant is long and has enough place to seat a huge crowd. Theres enough sunlight entering the restaurant which makes their interiors gleam and look surreal. As you can see in the pic, there is a thick glass partition that starts from the ceiling and has intricate designs on it which looked really amazing. I love the fact that the restaurant has gone out-of-the-way to make the interiors look amazing!
Their menu is quite impressive and everything is a must try if you ask me. I have only put up the menu of the deserts and drinks as this is the most recommended dishes. Do order the following if you do visit them as they are too good, we couldn’t order everything as the food is quite filling. But we are definitely going back to try the rest of their menu :D. We had ordered their Red Berry Waffles, Wild Mushroom Benedict, Roast Beef Benedict and cappuccino. The food presentation is spot on and you will be tempted to try everything and believe me it tastes as good as it looks 👍
Red Berry Waffles – The waffles were soft and had red berry sauce and cream cheese frosting on top. Fresh red berries were added on top of the frosting. The waffles were soft and really yummy! A must try dish if you love the tangy berry taste.
Wild Mushroom Benedict – My friend Celia ordered this dish. She really liked it! The Benedict was served on a croissant, with wild mushrooms, truffle oil and hollandaise sauce along with a Rocca & pomegranate salad. Perfect dish for eggetarians 🙂
Roast Beef Benedict – I had ordered this dish and I found the taste too sweet as there was a lot of barbecue sauce but the meat was cooked well and complimented the egg. The Benedict was also served on croissant, with barbecue and buffalo sauce basted roast beef, hollandaise sauce and a similar salad. If you don’t like the sweet taste in your Benedict then I would recommend you to try the wild mushroom Benedict instead.
Service & Ambience – The service was exceptional and I was impressed with the waiters as they were there at all times to check on us, to make sure we were comfortable and got our order on time. The ambience is good if you reach there early like 8am as it’s quite peaceful. After 10am, it gets crowded and loud.
What to Expect – Make sure you reach the restaurant before 10am on weekdays as it gets pretty busy and crowded and you might have to wait for a seat. I have heard the wait time on weekends is 45mins so make sure you reach there early to avoid the rush. Theres no reservation, its first come first basis. Also they stop taking orders after 11.30am. The food is really good and prepared well using fresh ingredients.
Location – Cocoa Room is situated in Galleria Mall, Al Wasl Road and is open from 8am to noon and is a sister concern of Slider Station Restaurant so it operates in the same location. At noon, its back to Slider Station serving lunch and dinner.
